With the coronavirus being the topic on people’s lips it is more important to make sure that you not only stay aware of it but also to protect yourself from it.
This is the reason today I want to talk about who the vegan diet and coronavirus actually connect and how it could be one of the best ways to protect you.
I little bit of background about me if you are new to this site. I have been a vegan for a decade and this was due to a chronic disease which nearly ended my life, the heart related condition (you can read my full story here).
This ended up being one of the best journey I have ever been on because this diet not only did it cleanse me and have an irreversible contribution to my heart but it also made my health improve drastically.
This led me to do tons of research about it over the last decade and understand its benefits to the body, which is why I am passionate to talk about it today with regard to coronavirus.

Understanding coronavirus’s effect to the body
The coronavirus is basically a virus which specifically attacks the immune system and especially the weak type of immune system.
This is the reason that it is said that older people and those with weak immune systems who are most vulnerable.
In fact according to statnews.com people with immune systems can be at a greater danger since the virus can feed on such a weak body.
The other danger is that the coronavirus can have a huge impact to such people because of the lack of full understanding of this virus like the SARS.
According to DW.com with coronavirus it is likely that the system is invaded quicker and more easily compared to the damage done by other viruses like a cold for instance.
You can see how important all the authorities are emphasizing when it comes to the immune system.
Can the vegan diet help and to what extent?
As I have spoken about the effects of the vegan diet when I wrote the article called diets for coronavirus I can safely say the vegan diet is one of the three diets which are effective.
Their reason for this is that the vegan diet is one of the most purest diet which eliminates any sort all the animal fat which can lead to inflammation.
What is worse according to whitneyerd.com a single saturated high meal will lead to the inflammation which will cause high blood pressure since the vessels become small.
In fact, I experienced this myself when I had stopped eating meat.
What happened is that I tried meat and then all of a sudden I start to get huge body pain near my heart which was what used to happen before.
This shows the dangers of saturated fats in meat in general.
So how does inflammation contribute to a weak immune system?
Well an inflamed body means that your cells in the body are eating your body tissues which leads to your body being prone to diseases and coronavirus is no different.
The only meat that I would recommend is grilled chicken because chicken by nature has the healthy fats and if it is grilled it makes it more reliable.
So the vegan diet is basically a diet which is good for preventing you from getting the inflammation which can cause and immune system.
This is also according to physician Committee for responsible medicine which is headed by multiple and respected doctors.
This committee says that not only is the vegan diet good for preventing but it is great for reversing any inflammation in the body effectively.
They also site a study which talks about the fact that the vegan diet is even better than the recommendation of a heart healthy diet which is recommended for inflammation.
This is also the reason a person needs to lose weight if they are over weight as this can cause coronavirus to attack you easily as your body is inflamed.

What if you do not know how to start a vegan diet?
Well you are not alone when it comes to this because we all start at that point where we know nothing (trust me, it is part of life).
I remember when I started I was so lost because I had no guide or person to help me at all.
But since I wanted to be healthy I had to force and push myself to know. Luckily these days there are many resources online to learn from.

Shortcomings of a vegan diet and how to eliminate them.
I have to say that if you turn to a vegan diet and do not know the right nutrients which you are missing due to the vegan diet this can do more harm than good to your body.
This is because if you do not have enough nutrients in your body it will be worse than the diet you were in for the long run.
This is because your body will not be able to be stronger to fight fully for you when it comes to the coronavirus.
So let’s see some nutrients that most newbie vegan dieters have:
Since you do not eat any dairy product as a vegan you will, without a doubt, have a shortage of calcium in the body.
This will mean that you need to supplement if you can not get food with calcium. However, I usually say supplementing should be the last resort.

Iron is also one of the prime nutrients which is found in meat so you will need to focus on vegan food high in Iron.
- Vitamin D
Vitamin D is also another nutrient you will need to make sure you focus on as most vegan food will lack this, but don’t worry I got you covered.

- Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is another hugely missed nutrient and can cause havoc in your body if you do not take care of it by supplementing or getting food high in vitamin B12.
The coronavirus is very scary to even think that anyone can get affected and die easily because of aspects like a weak immune system.
The problem is that most people do not know if their immune system is strong enough since they basically eat whatever they come across.
This makes them very exposed to the coronavirus and other disease. This is because the bad food cause inflammation in the body which causes.
The doctors and physicians recommend a vegan diet as the best option for reducing or reversing inflammation.
However a person needs to know they know all the essentials for being a vegan or eating a vegan diet, but if they are all considered this is the best choice for anyone trying to be bullet proof for coronavirus.
