Welcome to my article where I talk about whether weight lifting is good for weight loss or not and can you rely on this method for effective weight management.
There are many ways one can lose weight and one of the most known is to eat less and exercise more so that you can essentially burn more fat.
However, with weight loss there is no one size fits all. It all depends on what you are willing to focus on and what suits your lifestyle.
This is why in this article I will be exploring whether weight lifting is good for weight loss/fat burn or not.
Without further ado, let’s get started with the article.
Things to consider for weight loss.
When it comes to weight loss, since there are many ways to go about it, the best way is to consider some vital aspects which can help you.
It is vital that you consider your reasons for weight loss and the time frame you are looking to get to see if this will work or not.
For example some people would rather focus on two factors for their weight loss such as diet and cardio while someone else could focus on weight lifting and diet.
So as I said it just depends on what your body prefers to handle or what you prefer.
I known I would not be able to do weight lifting since I previously had a heart related condition which prevents me from lifting heavy weights for a very long time. So I would rather focus on diet and cardio or diet and something else.
Let us look at some common ways to lose weight so you can have a good idea of what you can focus on.
So you can basically use any of these in combination as they have all been proven to work.
Weight lifting purpose
Ofcourse we all known that the reason people do weight lifting is because they are looking to develop muscles in the body.
The other aspect to look at is the that science has proven that if you build muscles you will be able to get rid of any fat in your body according to sources like healthline.
This is because muscles are said to replace the bad fat in your body in the most natural and easy way as muscles weighs less than any fat.
This does not mean that you have to be as big as Arnold schwarzenegger or something. You just need a good amount of muscles in your body.
This is why even doing something like push ups is very good and can be very helpful for you.
How weight lifting affects your body
We already known that weight lifting can help you build muscles and possible help with weight loss. So how can this affect you if it is done consistently.
If you do too much weight lifting it can be something g similar to what happens if you drink more alcohol than what is normally known as normal.
For weight lifting you will obviously have more muscles but than you will end up doing the opposite effect of losing weight in the long run.
You will end up causing your muscles to weaken and also it will make you damage your joints according to inside.com
So as much as weight lifting is good make sure you use it in moderation especially for weight loss.
Who should do weight loss?
As much as this strategy is good, but it is vital to check who it is better suited for and which type of people should avoid it.
As I said before that a person who had a heart condition like me should rather avoid it as it may cause arteries to constrict especially those leading to the heart.
Here is a list of people who should avoid weight lifting for weight loss:
- Diabetic people
- People who had a heart related conditions
- People who have bone or joint problems like gout.
- People who do not have time to stay consistence with it.
All in all weight loss is all dependent on what factors you can use and which ones can be effective for you and it is better to use these in combination.
Weight lifting for weight loss is one of the best strategies for people who are looking to boost their weight loss in the most natural way.
Weight lifting has the effect of helping to strengthen your muscles which will thus replace your fat.
Muscles are said to weigh less than fat which means the more good muscles you have the easy it is for you to lose weight.
However, you still must not over do this as it can end up having an opposite effect than the one which weight lifting is intended for (weight loss).
At the end weight lifting is a very good strategy for weight loss and I do recommend you add it as long as you have time and do not have any other preexisting conditions.
